Month after month, we sift through hundreds of photos from feeding operations across the globe. Somewhere in every batch, there are always a few faces that make us stop and look twice.
October was no exception.

Once again this month, our local partners and volunteers went out into the streets (curious what a feeding run actually looks like from start to finish? Here’s how a typical one works). From quiet stretches of roadside to busy city corners where abandoned dogs gather, the rhythm was familiar: food loaded up, bowls set out, and one clear mission—make sure as many dogs as possible get a meal today.
The dogs in these images don’t know who you are. They have no idea that someone, somewhere, decided to wear a bracelet that helped pay for their food. But they do understand one thing: today, someone showed up on their behalf.

Behind the Scenes of Our Feeding Operations
There’s nothing glamorous about how these feeding operations look in real life. There are no staged sets or shiny facilities—just committed volunteers, bags of food, and dogs that have learned to survive with very little.
Some of the dogs we met in October kept their distance at first—likely former pets, still unsure whether humans can be trusted again. Others ran straight toward the food, tails wagging, simply relieved that there was something to eat.
Each image captures a small but meaningful story. A puppy discovering what a full bowl feels like. A group of street dogs eating side by side in peace because, for once, there is enough to go around. A lone dog on a quiet road, finally getting the meal and attention it has gone without for too long.
